For the past few years I have been focusing on my graphic design business, but in January of this year, I decided that I needed to add something a little more traditionally creative back into my life. Since January I have been experimenting with mediums and trying a bunch of new things like embroidery, woodburning and I even circled back to painting for a bit.
Unfortunately, nothing seemed to stick. I did enjoy painting again, but painting for me is a bit like a drug — all consuming. With that said, it was hard to focus on my design business when I kept getting distracted by wanting to paint and draw. While I love painting and drawing, I was never able to make the kind of living that I do with graphic design.
SO, here I am circling back to what won me several awards in art school — Digital Illustration. This time around I am going with a bit of a minimalist style that is closer to my fine art work than my previous digital work, which was more character based.
I hope you like it!
